Board Meetings

The Board meets at the District Office, 270 East Bridge Street, unless otherwise posted. Agendas are posted 48 hours prior to each meeting.

School board meetings are meetings of the trustees held in the public for the purpose of conducting the business of the board. Patrons are welcome to speak at board meetings during the Patron Input. Expressions must be appropriate to the public setting. Discussion of personnel matters or personal attacks are not appropriate.

To address the board, please fill out a public input sheet before the meeting and hand it to the board clerk. By law, the board is not permitted to discuss items that have not been posted as agenda items. However, matters may be referred to the administration for study and response at a future meeting. Patrons will be recognized by the chair. Patron input should not exceed three (3) minutes. The chair will assign a timekeeper.

Board members may listen to the problems brought to their attention by a patron of the district, and should encourage patrons and employees to review particular problems with the building principal or superintendent.

Work sessions are scheduled as needed for the purpose of discussing one or more specific issues in depth. They may be scheduled separately, or held in conjunction with regular or special meetings. No action is taken during a work session.

All regular, special and emergency meetings of the Board are open to the public except during executive session. By Idaho law, executive sessions may be called by the governing board to discuss: (1) personnel matters; (2) meet and confer items (negotiations); )3) legal matters with attorneys; (4) purchase or lease of real property; and, (5) litigation.
